Ed is sick, drinking tea, chasing it with wine and a smoke throughout the show. After 'Insignificance,' Ed points out that the reason the band are playing Fargo is Jeff Ament and the crowd responds with "Jeff" chants. Ed mentions Jeff's family, who are supposedly in the stands stage right holding a large "Thanks, Jeff" banner.

This was my second Pearl Jam show, and the best tickets anyone could get without winning the lottery: 3rd row center. Not many 10c members in attendance. Met Jeff's uncle as his VW van (loaded with people!) pulled up to the side of the Fargodome. (My friend and I were eavesdropping on the soundcheck.) He got out with the banner rolled up, introduced himself to us and asked us if he could get in through the door we were standing at, and if he thought the banner would be too big. I'm not sure if he thought we worked there or something, but we pointed him in the direction of the front door. Thinking back on it, I should have escorted him in. Dumb, dumb, dumb!
Thanks for posting all these shows! It's awesome to read about the band's headspace or special circumstances surrounding a particular show.
